Sea View Home

A sight for sore eyes this unique piece of architecture consists of two dark grey pavilions nestled into the cliffside overlooking Onetangi beach.

This complex build required some careful planning and staunch engineering to get the project out of the ground. The architectural series joinery allows for the large ocean views to be enjoyed from almost anywhere in the house. Cladded in flat aluminium panels to conceal the internal gutters within the roof line, the two pavilions are linked by a series of flat roofs. The roof's structural beams and posts are wrapped in cedar giving the exterior variety and texture. With the aluminium cladding on a dead flat 17mm plywood substrate (walls and roof), this house is not only sleek but durable and able to handle any storm thrown at it from the north.

With a great mix of timber’s inside, from oak floors, to cedar soffits and ceiling linings we couldn’t be happier with the level of craftsmanship portrayed throughout this project.
